Wow. It’s Actually Friday!

Friday’s Feast 191:

Appetizer

What is the nearest big city to your home? Seattle.

Soup

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets? I’d give it a 7. It’s depends on the secret and the people.

Salad

Describe your hair (color, texture, length). Dark but not black. Curly/frizzy. Just below the ears and growing (by command of the Prince).

Main Course

What kind of driver are you?  Courteous?  Aggressive?  Slow? Non-driver. My first test drive I crashed the car…into another parked car. Haven’t dared again since.

Dessert

When was the last time you had a really bad week? Uh, that would be this week. Today and yesterday were hellish. I almost walked off the job today, but knew I was too sick and emotionally distraught to make such a drastic decision.

Friday Fun: The Fives Edition

1. What are the last five books you have read? I am reading Arabian Nights right now. The last 4 were all part of the Dune Chronicles: #1 Dune, #2 Dune Messiah, #3 Children of Dune, #4 God Emperor of Dune.
2. Name five places in the world you would love to go to. Israel, Italy, Scotland, Australia, Iceland.
3. Name five people who have strongly influenced your life, both good and bad,… not counting family! JP and Dennis Prager - for the good. Two former religious teachers - for the bad (although, looking at it from a positive standpoint, they made me see that EVERY group has it’s bad apples and not to trust someone just because they’re "religious"). Last but not least, my Prince - for the WONDERFUL.
4. Name five things you have accomplished that you are proud of, big or small! My first novel. 50+ sit ups. Touching the floor with my knees–over my head. Learning the alphabet before age 2. Uh…I’m struggling here…reading a 200+ word novel in one sitting.
5. Name five things you still want to do in your life. Become a published authoress. The splits (I’m SO close!!). Travel the world. Earn a doctorate (in something!). Get married.

Friday Fill-in #72

1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to abandon my Prince!
2. This hot weather reminds me that summer is almost here!
3. I cannot live without my Prince.
4. The Prince’s experimental dish tonight and dumping wet potato peelings down his back are two things I’d like to try.
5. When life hands you lemons chuck ‘em at people!
6. Biting my brother-in-law is my favorite childhood memory. (Unfortunately, the incident was caught on video.)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to enjoying the Prince’s fine cooking, tomorrow my plans include going to see Prince Caspian (I hope) and Sunday, I want to just relax!

It’s Good to be Back!

It’s so nice to be doing memes again. Now that my weekends are free, I’ll doing this regularly–if only once a week.

It was so nice spending yesterday with My Prince. We hung out for a while at a coffee shop (mm–white mocha!) and then walked (in the rain) for about 45 min (hey, rain exhilarates me). to the movie theather where we watched The Forbidden Kingdom. It was awesome!!! I want it when it comes out on DVD. The Prince liked it, too. Then, since we needed to kill some time, we waited to watch Iron Man. That was when we met C4 and her man coming out from just seeing–guess…–Iron Man! My Prince had wanted to see that one, as well, so they convinced me it was worth watching. After buying tickets, we were taken out for a quick lunch by C4 and her man and then dropped back off at the theater. Iron Man wasn’t as bad as I had expected. (I’m terribly suspicious of movies that get lots of hype in the media).

Following the movie, we went over to my Sisters of the Grand Cauldron of Mischief. Yay! They finally met my Prince! And they got along SO well! Actually, it kind of scares me how well they got along. They actually teamed up to tease me at one point. Don’t those girls realize I know where they sleep?

Well, that’s all for now. Enjoy the memes below. I’m going to eat some of that deliciousness my Prince cooked for me.

Unconscious Mutterings, Week 275:

  1. State :: Kentucky–I did a report on it once.
  2. Lively :: me with coffee :D
  3. Valet :: I could use one–no, on second thought, just give me a chauffeur.
  4. Traction :: non-skid shoes
  5. Official :: …duties
  6. Red hot :: …Mama
  7. Powder :: powered sugar–mmm.
  8. Replies :: "Sarcasm? Who me?" she replies.
  9. Flagrant :: The audacity!
  10. Tweet :: I once had a teacher with that name.

1. what is your favorite time of the day? Anytime I am with my Prince.
2. who is your hero? My Prince comes the closest.
3. what is your favorite television program? NCIS.
4. do you have a hobby? Writing or reading, mostly. All I have time for anymore.
5. how long have you been blogging? Off and on for a few years.
6. what is your dream job? Don’t really have one. If I could live off the novels I write, that would be ideal.

8. do you have any bad habits? I pick at my nails and often leave my clothes laying around.
9. do you feel younger or older than your current age? Younger.

Friday Fiasco

Categories: My life, Memes, Weather, Holidays

Friday’s Feast 169:

Appetizer
What was your first “real” job? Tutoring kids during the summer. I was paid $20-50 a day.

Soup
Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity? I’d go to my bedroom and crank up the music (the question is: Do I feel like Andrew Lloyd Weber or Queen? I told you I have a broad taste in music).

Salad
Complete this sentence: I am embarrassed when…I do something that makes me look stupid. Then, I laugh.

Main Course
What values did your parents instill in you? Respect your elders, wash your hands often, boys are DANGEROUS. LOL!

Dessert
Name 3 fads from your teenage years. I wasn’t really into fads when I was a teen. The few times I was interested in one, Imah nipped it in the bud. Now, however, I am into fashion arm warmers (especially fishnet), princess stuff, and my camera phone (those are kind of faddish).

Friday5: So Why Don’t You Slide?

  1. Where is the nearest playground slide? I can see one from the majestic view of my window.
  2. What’s something you recently let slide? An inappropriate comment.
  3. Who recently let slide something you did? Imah (that doesn’t happen often).
  4. Where is the nearest water slide? Wherever I chose to make it! Hahaha!
  5. When did you last slide down a pole, a rope, or an embankment? Um, I got my friends to roll down an embankment during my birthday party. That was so fun!

Friday Fill-in #46:

1. The things I give thanks for this Thanksgiving are family and food. What could be better? ;)
2. My Thanksgiving traditions include visiting with the family I rarely see, making the cooks feel their food is superior to any famous chef, watching the family play Pit (from a safe distance–maybe with some headphones on).
3. The best part about Thanksgiving is the food.
4. My favorite Thanksgiving food is: oh dear, I can’t answer that! It’s all so good!!
5. Wearing the gravy was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me on Thanksgiving.
6. After the meal, I sprawl in front of the TV. When I’m done eating, I can’t move too much.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to bed, tomorrow my plans include waiting for my special package and Sunday, I want to prepare the welcome-back gift for My Evil Twin!

Well, this has been an interesting week. I think my impatience for a certain gift is taking its toll on me. The beginning of this week, I was cheery, chipper, perky, irrepressible. Yesterday and today, nothing can go right. I couldn’t be more accident prone if I was doing it on purpose! Plus, yesterday, I had several crabby customers. It was probably because it was raining cats and dogs, but geez, don’t take it out on me! I nearly cried but instead ground my teeth together. You’ll not see my tears, you crabs!

Now (having decorated the kitchen with raw egg in my pitiful attempt to make breakfast), I fear today will be very much the same. At least I haven’t fallen down the stairs…a second time.

Shalom and Happy Thanksgiving!

Frightened? Eh…Maybe

Categories: Friends, Memes, Weather, LR, Decor, Pics

Friday’s Feast 165:

Appetizer
If you were a dog, what breed would you be, and why? I would be a greyhound because they’re fast and they have lean, graceful bodies.

Soup
What does the color purple make you think of? Royalty!

Salad
Approximately how long does it take you to get ready each morning? Oh dear. Do I have to answer that? I like to give myself 2 hours because me+rushing+morning=disaster.

Main Course
How many cousins do you have, and are you close to them? I have too many cousins to count. Unfortunately, I’m not close to any of them; the closest of them live across the state.

Dessert
Take your initials (first, middle, last) and come up with something else those letters could stand for. (Example: SFO = Sweet Funny Otter) There’s no way I’m using every single one of my initials, ok? Let’s go with YAH = You are hilarious! (said sarcastically)

Friday Fill-in #42:

1. October is a pretty month. Not as awesome as November, but, hey, they can’t all be perfect.
2. Thunderstorms don’t scare me! Sort of…
3. Haunted houses are interesting in real life. I avoid the carnival ones.
4. My favorite scary movie is Hangman’s Curse because of the plot twist. I can’t spoil it by telling.
5. Don’t mind me. (Said just before I carry out another devious scheme.)
6. It was a dark and stormy night and everyone was nervous because they couldn’t see where I was. Muahahaha!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to getting out of work if this storm keeps up, tomorrow my plans include Jewish movie night! and Sunday, I want to put up my new mirrors!

Whew! Can I remember all that’s happened this week? Well, I went bowling til midnight on Tuesday. C4’s had this guy pursuing her, and she decided to use a bowling night to get her friends to meet and critique him. He passed the test.

My Evil Twin and I played the first game as one person. In between turns, we gabbed about movies and such. Somehow, we got to talking about how she is a werewolf (I can’t remember why–because she’s always warm?) and how I am a vampire (because I am always cold and my movements tend to be graceful). Musing about it now, I think we got it backwards: she prides herself on being (or appearing) calm and impervious; I tend to be excitable and hot-headed–though I, too, have perfected a cold, emotionless side for certain circumstances. Maybe we’re both half-bloods. Intriguing…

On another topic! I have covered the gap where my closet door used to reside with a pretty, pink curtain. I used two sheer curtains and tied them together to the rod with sheer, pink ribbon.

Notice the tassells? Those were Imah’s idea. Now, all I have left for my royal bedroom is to install my mini chandelier and put up those huge mirrors on opposite walls from each other–for a dance studio effect. (Also, Imah’s idea.)

I must say farewell now. Work demands to be done. Bills demand to be paid. And this thunderstorm might knock out my internet again. ;)

Shabbat Shalom!

Rain, Rain Come Again

Categories: My life, Memes, Weather

Friday Fill-in #31:

1. Last weekend, I was thinking that I could really use some sleep.
2. If the weather continues like this, I’m moving to Alaska! emoticon
3. Will my hair ever grow? (I’m working on it.)
4. Often, on a summer’s night, I think how beautiful the moon is.
5. Right now, I could use a good strong dose of cold medicine.
6. My favorite summertime meal is a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to seeing Tay (even if it is under sad circumstances), tomorrow my plans include work and Sunday, I want to go to bed immediately after work!

Ugh. So tired. And now I’m sick. Oh joy.

Seriously, though, the rain this morning was tremendously appreciated. After working on organizing and moving some boxes, I felt drowsy so I took a nap. When I went back outside, it was bright with sunshine. I scowled. I really do prefer the rain now. It’s refreshing and empowering. Sunlight only blinds me and drains my energy.

Well, I’ve set the evening of Monday, August 27th as the date for my Housewarming/Dance Party. Hopefully, I can get some people to go with me to the Sol Duc Hot Springs, too. Though we’re finally out of the old place (Yay!), Imah thinks it will take us another month to get fully settled in. Yeah. We have A LOT of stuff.

I know there’s more to write about, but my mind isn’t working very well just now. And I’m afraid I must depart.

Farewell!

Spring vs. Me

Round 1: Spring, 1 point. Me, 0.

Wow. I’m in the process of recovering from an allergy cold and was worried yesterday that I might be somewhat of a drag. So, it was with some interest that I went through the day meeting one sick friend and another. C4 had it so badly that I’m surprised she went on with the play–but she was determined to get it over with. I wish it could have turned out better for all her efforts. I think she might have been too sick to care much, though. I must give her siblings a standing ovation for helping her out. I feel guilty for not participating myself, but I didn’t expect to be going so often. I only go to Puyallup with my friends if I don’t have to work the next day. It just turns out that my employers have given me the last few Sundays off–a fact which quite stuns Imah.

That reminds me: it looks like I shall be moving away from my friends. I, who love my home in the Pacific Northwest, may be moving with Imah to somewhere around the Washington/Oregon border to be closer to family. Imah’s mother and brother aren’t doing well physically, so she wants to near them and help take care of them. I have been desperately looking for a way out. Imah keeps warning me not to plan anything behind her back. *shrug* Well…Imah schemes up all sorts of wild dreams and ideas–most of which have not come to pass (hence my cynical side). I mean, our finances have been dramatically reduced. How will we even pay for the move in the first place? Still, she scares me–looking houses, stores, places to work, and even libraries in the area down there. I’m not even all that close to my family. My chances of becoming so–not being the most sociable creature in the world–are might slim.

Well, aren’t we cheery? I’m going to move on the memes before I depress myself.

Unconscious Mutterings, Week 217 :

  1. Trembling :: …lip (good tactic for sympathy) emoticon
  2. Shut up :: Get in. Sit down. Hold on. Shut up. (One of my favorite bumper stickers!)
  3. Heights :: River… (where Nancy Drew lives. I used to love reading those books.)
  4. Monica :: …N.J. (an old friend)
  5. Delicious :: Red…
  6. Joint :: …custody (I know…too much Law & Order.)
  7. Ferry :: docks
  8. Bliss :: ignorance
  9. Rejection :: jilted lover (Why I thought of that, I have no idea.)
  10. Satisfying :: ice cream. Mm.

Week of April 1st: April showers bring May flowers

Well, Spring has finally arrived, how do you feel? *grmph* Could you give me a tissue, please?

Has it been a long hard winter for you? No. This was the awesomest winter ever!

Does the beautiful spring weather put you in a good mood? No! I see the lovely sunshine, dash outside, and immediately freeze. Blast you, cruel nature!!

Some people do spring cleaning, some suffer from seasonal allergies, and others just dont care at all. How do you feel about Springtime? Shut up and hand over the allergy pills. (No, I don’t care much for spring. It’s just a torturous interval between my more beloved seasons.)

Sooo…It turns out Imah was right about my going out with friends yesterday. *razz to Imah* Just hand over the meds and your silly, homemade cures, ok? *sneeze* *hack hack*

Who Are You, Again?

I’m taking opening at work a lot better. For one thing, I’m no longer uttering evil curses for the shift scheduler upon waking at 2:30am every morning. I’m also trying to get up at 3–I made it today, but my hair was wet, my shirt was untucked, and various other piddling details. I just wanted to watch the premier of Raines @10 last night–and figured since I was off work by 11am, sleep wasn’t very important. LOL! I actually did ok until my last hour. Ick. Not cool.

Anyway, opening–it’s ok. I sleep in shifts, and, hey, I’m usually off by 1pm at the latest. The rest of the day is mine. Mine. MINE!!

Oh yes, I got my first professional manicure about weeks ago, and, urged by Imah, got the acrylic nails (today!) because they’re supposed to last longer. I have my doubts. I’m pretty rough on my nails at work. It’s a little difficult typing now, though. The nails aren’t long…but apparently long enough. It feels very odd. And, of course, I’m afraid of mutilating them. I’m pretty good at ruining and destroying. My family didn’t call me The Destructo for nothing.

Tomorrow, I’m going to Puyallup with C4. I’m so excited. I’ve been in a dancing mood since Calev and Josi stopped by last Saturday to give me my new dance CD (and a morbid Valentine’s card–something about a bloody heart; the less you know about it the better, blah, blah–it was perfect!! And they knew it! Todah!) So..dance. I wanted to dance or something today. It was so stinkin’ nice out! What the heck is that? An idea popped in my head. If it’s like this tomorrow–rollerblades, baby. I called C4 up and told her if she doesn’t have her own rollerblades, she’d better borrow her brother’s. I plan on calling her in the morning to make sure she doesn’t forget.

I was hoping that Calev and Josi could meet up with us and (re)teach us some fun dances. Unfortunately, Her Majesty is sick. Get well soon! (I had nothing to do it–this time.) emoticon

Oh, I have to tell this. So, I’m at work this Monday, and around lunch time, a coworker says to me over the headset, "There’s someone here to see you." Believing it to be Imah, I begin imagining all sorts of horrible scenarios. I walk up to the front of the store and this guy catches my eye. "Hey! Good to see you! How are you doing?"

Who in God’s creation are you? I recognized him, I did. I just couldn’t put my finger on it. I came right out and told him so. It was crowded and I thought he said something about Calev. Oh! I must have met this guy at one of the dance parties Calev goes to. So, I nodded and smiled and pretended I now knew this guy. My headset then informed me I had a customer waiting, so I hurried away.

The girl with the other headset teased, "Who’s that? He has a nice smile." I gave a flustered laugh, trying to explain that I couldn’t remember who he was. It was a few minutes later, after another coworker (with more teasing) handed me a card on which the guy had written his name and number. I stared at the name, wracking my brain.

It dawned on me. He’d said "camp" not "Caleb." I knew who it was! It was the brother of one of my fellow camp counselors; he was one of the maintainance guys–and he loved what he’d read of my novel. I was so relieved to know who he was. I called him after work and found out he works not far from me; he found out I’m almost done with my novel. (Unfortunately, the computer troubles screwed up my document; I can’t open it right now. Grr. I’m working on fixing it, but it looks like it’s going to set me back.)

So, anyway, I got this crazy idea of inviting him to come with C4 and I. I’m weighing the pros and cons. Our schedule is pretty relaxed; we almost never know what we’re going to do for the day. I’m just afraid of him getting bored. Plus, this weekend, he probably has plans for St. Patty’s.

We’ll see. Farewell and Shabbat Shalom!

Pretty Pink Ring

Categories: Random, Weather

I got the ring I’ve been longing for! If I hadn’t spent my "fun money" on DVDs and games, I’d show you a picture of the ring…but I didn’t have the money for a digital camera. Sorry. Anyway, the ring is a pink, heart-shaped crystal with three tiny (clear) crystals on each side, set in silver. I also found an identical one with a red heart, set in gold. I fell in love with that one too but never saw it again to whet my desire. Hehe! Now, I have both.

I am happy. Life is good. Sparkles are joy. (I’ve always been a bit of a magpie–picking up and collecting shiny objects from the street. LOL!)

On a final note: Bring on the snow!! (I’ll get more hours at work. Hahaha!)

Happy [Gregorian] New Year!

Categories: Random, Blog, Weather

I’m just writing a quick post because I’m bored, hyper…and the power might go out again. Seriously, I love wind, but it’s scary out there.

Oh…Happy [Gregorian] New Year to you all! (I celebrated my new year a few months ago.) I was tired New Year’s Eve, so I went to bed around 10–growling at the early fireworks. I have no idea how the firework shows went. Oh well. Fireworks (almost as much as snow) have ceased to interest me.

That’s all for now. Check out my myspace blog for what my friends say about me

Farewell!

Houston…We have a Problem

Categories: Friends, Work, Weather

I won’t be going to Puyallup to go to shul this Saturday–for various reasons. I barely made it last week, because I was scheduled to work; so I had to find someone to work that shift (I did find someone, fortunately). Unfortunately, I am scheduled to work on Saturday the 9th–so early in the morning that I’m not likely to find anyone willing. And for what? The blasted shift is only a few measely hours! Well, a bunch of people did just get hired on, but still–I don’t like having my hours cut. Neither does Imah. She’s talking about having me look for work elsewhere. The only problem is, I’m getting attached to some of my co-workers. I’d really miss them (my old self would SO be scoffing at that–Imah would too).

My only hope (for now, anyway) is the snow. While others may call in to say they can’t make it, I will not be deterred. Today, for instance, I was asked to come in early because some people couldn’t make it. I got extra hours because of it! That’s what I’m talking about. Bring on the snow!!

Other than its favoring me with extra hours, I have little regard for snow anymore. It’s pretty when it falls; it’s pretty when it settles; but, after having a dog for several years, I just can’t trust the stuff unless it’s above my waist. I abhor walking on it–who knows what revolting substances might lie below waiting to stick to the bottom of my shoe? Besides, it’s cold. I think I’ve finally discovered that I’m more intolerant of cold than of heat. I think I’ll get a winter home in Arizona. That sounds nice.

Another problem with snow: it’s slippery (my work shoes have extrememly little traction). Oh yeah–snow makes people act…strange.

Farewell for now. Perhaps I’ll blog again tomorrow.
