No Bike Ride in the Rain

Categories: Friends, Memes, Weather, Movies

Unconscious Mutterings week 322:

  1. Road trip :: I wish.
  2. Pool hall :: swimming pool is more fun.
  3. Extraordinary :: Astronomy.
  4. Jackson :: Not the greatest name to have.
  5. Heartfelt :: I think there’s a clothing company by that name.
  6. Wet :: Swimming!!
  7. Strangle :: I strangled my pillow last night. Let’s leave it at that.
  8. .com :: I want one!
  9. Touched :: Little, random acts of kindness. Those really get me.
  10. Insipid :: Blah.
Didn’t go bike riding. My friends didn’t want to get wet. It’s been raining/hailing/snowing. Oh well, I’m expecting a larger group for next week! I did get to see Madagascar 2 and 21 for the first time. 21 wasn’t as bad as I expected. Laurence Fishburne did an excellent job. Every time he came on the screen, we girls wailed "Creepy Man!" Madagascar 2 wasn’t bad, either. The innuendos, though–jeepers!!

Off and On

Unconscious Mutterings 311:

  1. Resolution :: New Year’s. I never make any. My resolutions are weekly.
  2. Break :: I need one…another one.
  3. Tied :: My Prince and I are tied together on many levels. <3
  4. Suffering :: Pain and suffering.
  5. Instead :: I could…but instead I choose not to.
  6. Slash :: I actually knew a dog named that. He was such a sweetheart!
  7. Divorce :: Not pretty.
  8. Cough :: cough drops.
  9. Happy :: Happy go lucky!
  10. Sniffle :: What I often do in cold weather. Grr.
Took another weekend to be alone. Planning on getting together with friends next weekend, though. This week was insanely stressful. The company bigwigs keep placing these ridiculous restraints on us CSRs, inhibiting our ability to help the customer. And were lots of angry customers this week. Friday, especially, I’d like to erase from my memory.

I’m hoping this week won’t be so bad. For one thing, I’m getting taken off the phones every other week for a while. I’m really hoping it starts this week. I’ve just about had it with this company. I don’t know how they stay in business.

On a more positive note, the snow has finally melted completely away! And it raining! We even had a rain storm recently. My coworkers looked askance at me when I kept coming back from my breaks all wet and I’d explain enthusiastically that I’d been running around in the rain. What can I say? I hate snow. I LOVE rain!

My Systers of the Grand Cauldron of Mischief did make their yearly snowslide. Apparently, it got up to 10 feet high this time!! At one part, it’s higher than their roof. Yeah, um, I’ll pass again on trying their slide. Maybe next year… *ahem*

Tigger’s bday!

Unconscious Mutterings 308:

  1. Carpet :: magic…
  2. Bottoms :: …up
  3. Music :: Sound of…
  4. Nails :: acrylic
  5. Watch it! :: Or else!!
  6. Your life :: Your Mom.
  7. Candies :: See’s. Mmm.
  8. Chafing :: …at the bit
  9. Svelte :: I’d never heard of this before. I looked it up, though, and it means slender/sleek or suave.
  10. Ding :: …Dong. The wicked witch is dead!
I went to Her Majesty and Tigger’s place again this weekend, even though I told myself all week that I needed to stay home and rest. Then, Samson texts me asking me if I’m coming to Tigger’s bday party on Saturday. Oh, fantastic!  This after we just had a snow storm and were expecting another weekend (which came). And I seriously needed rest. I mean, geez! I’m already going over there on Tuesday for the Chanukkah party!

Still, Tigger is one of the people whose birthday I couldn’t miss. So, I went.

We ate white/chocolate chip challah, watched Hancock and did some dancing. Of course, being with this crowd, I really enjoyed myself. Except when Samson and Le Bullfrog ganged up on me, picking me up and tossing me back and forth to each other. They just better be glad they didn’t drop me…I would have mauled them!

Without going into any further detail, I love my crazy, retarded friends! And BOO to the snow!

    Vay Anam Vay

    Unconscious Mutterings 302:

    1. Coverage :: weather (You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella…) Did I mention I love the rain?
    2. Cynical :: what I was becoming until my Prince brought out my natural sunshine again.
    3. Gust :: more exciting than a mere breeze. Wind excites me.
    4. Improvised :: hm, some embarrassing clothing malfunctions come to mind…
    5. V :: …for Vendetta! I love that movie!!
    6. Guests :: aka, unsuspecting victims. Unless they’ve been my guests before. Then, they’re not so unsuspecting.
    7. Brutal :: sometimes, it’s the truth.
    8. Grant :: Cary Grant. A bit before my time. I found him hilarious in The Philadelphia Story, though.
    9. Pull :: gravity. It’s not just a force of nature. Sometimes, it’s a force that draws people to each other.
    10. Streaming :: live video. (I’m a wannabe geek. Geeks are just so AWESOME!)
    Speaking of awesome, I have been entertaining myself lately with Tarkan. Well, that is, with Tarkan’s music. *ahem* I bought his mp3 album Metamorphoz and am currently choreographing his song Vay Anam Vay. It’s not going to be anything fancy. I leave that to my major dance pro friends Tigger and Yoseph. I like simple movements that have more of a bellydance flavor.

    Anyway, with my Prince actually shipping out in a matter of days, I’ll be working feverishly to keep myself occupied and avoid lonesomeness. Small wonder that my dance itch has returned, my vocal practice has resumed, and my obsessive/compulsive writing goes with me everywhere except the bathroom (and even there, I’m still working on it in my head).

    Of course, I have other things to keep me busy as well. I plan on becoming a Jew through and through. My Prince is actually quite orthodox and if our relationship is going to continue, I’ll have to cease with my lazy observance of Judaism. So, I have a lot of stuff to study while he’s gone. Fortunately, I find the structure of Judaism comforting…and magical as well. I really do love it. Otherwise, it wouldn’t work with my Prince. I’m the type of girl who has a million rules regarding who I’ll fall in love with and even more rules for who I’ll marry. Seriously, I was pretty sure I’d never find someone up to my standards–especially not in the U.S. (no offense, guys). So, yeah, I consider myself the luckiest lady in the world to have found my Prince. My soulmate.

    Ok, that’s all for tonight. I’m going to bed and listen to New Moon.

      I’m too sexy for an umbrella

      Unconscious Mutterings week 292:

      1. Groceries :: tasty foods
      2. Deodorant :: I like Secret’s one-liner: Because You’re Hot. Very cute/clever.
      3. Psychic :: I love supernatural stuff. It’s fascinating.
      4. Cherries ::*giggle*
      5. Spooky :: someone knowing your thoughts. Well, maybe that’s creepy. Spooky is more like a haunted house.
      6. Yogurt :: black cherry flavor is my favorite
      7. Kitchen :: a dangerous place
      8. Nothing personal :: …I just don’t like you.
      9. Be nice :: Why are people always telling me that?
      10. Delivery :: Still waiting on my Twilight Saga on audiobook. *sigh*
      Well, I got to see my Prince this weekend! We walked all over town yesterday, getting ourselves drenched to the skin in the downpour. It was so fun! We shivered in the theaters as we watched Traitor and then Babylon AD. The first movie wasn’t bad; the latter was AWFUL!!! Ugh. Do yourself and DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY on that horrible movie. If you’re a big Vin Diesel fan, wait til it comes out on dvd or something.*shudder*

      Anyway, after that, we were still kind of wet, so I insisted on stopping at a nearby restaurant for some piping hot coffee and a warm meal. We both felt better, but at that point it was getting dark. We made calls to our friends but no one was available to hang out with–no one who could pick us up, that is. So we sauntered home to change into totally DRY clothes and relax for the rest of the evening. He had to get back to the base today, though, because he has a couple of reports that have to be done by Tuesday. At least I got to see him. Those weeks without him were torture.

      Anywhoo…I’ve got things to do! Have a good Labor Day!

      Week of June29: Random Nosy Questions

      1. What are your plans for today? I need to get ready for the week. I start my new job on Tuesday!!
      2. Who was the last person you talked on the phone with? Imah.
      3. What was the last tv program you watched? I watched a recording of Burn Notice. Jeffrey Donovan is awesome!
      4. What was the last thing you ate? Oven baked pizza. A surprisingly delectable one!
      5. What time did you get out of bed today? Around 9am.

      Ugh. It’s so hot today! I’m so grateful for cool, refreshing water and sugarless, coffee-flavored ice cream! My Prince came over this weekend and we had a Dune movie marathon. We almost finished it, too, but we had to drive him down to the bus station. That’s ok. I know what happens to poor Alia. I know what course of destiny Leto chooses for himself. The movie was actually very good. It didn’t follow the books, naturally–there’s just so much to cover–but it did a good job.

      Now, I must prepare for the week. Tomorrow is my last day off before I start my new job. I’ll be sure to chronicle my complaints next Sunday. LOL!

      Farewell!

      My Last Free Friday

      Friday’s Feast 195:

      Appetizer

      What is the weather like today where you live? It’s hot and sunny today! …I miss the rain.

      Soup

      On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how career-minded are you? I’d put myself at a 4–unless, of course, I can make my writing my career. Then, I’d be an 11.

      Salad

      What type of window coverings do you have in your home? Blinds, curtains, shutters, etc.? Blinds. Boring.

      Main Course

      Name something that instantly cheers you up? My Prince! And bubble baths! Writing doesn’t necessarily cheer me up, but it helps me cope/sort things out.

      Dessert

      How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning? Rarely, but when I do, only once.

      Friday Fill In #78:

      1. Birthdays are a good excuse to party.

      2. Fall is my favorite season because there’s something magical about that change of weather/season.

      3. I feel my best when my Prince is around to cheer me up and motivate me. He’s the best!

      4. Anything my Prince cooks is my favorite food!

      5. First impressions are deceiving.

      6. The best piece of advice I ever received was don’t let other people get you down.

      7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward hoping to seeing my Prince, tomorrow my plans include getting briefed by an “insider” on my new job and Sunday, I want to welcome my Evil Twin back from camp!

      My last day of work went well. I got some contact info from a few more people, so that was nice. I almost missed my bus home, though–that was not so nice.

      Yesterday was quite an adventure. I took a short walk to get my nails done (gold again) and, seeing I had plenty of time before the next bus came by, walked back home and had lunch. I took the bus to Walmart for the first time–only to discover that, though the bus passes right by the store, it doesn’t actually stop anywhere near there. Great. Well, I got my exercise for the day walking back to the store. Good thing it was a nice (but not too hot) day.

      Met Imah there while I was shopping. She offered to take me home to drop off my stuff and then swing me over to my appointed visit with my Systers of the Grand Cauldron of Mischief (as my Prince calls my Girls).

      Once with my other family, I got suckered into watching Johnny English by the boys. Gag me! What a horrible movie. And the villian! I have never heard a worse French accent. He totally butchered it!

      Well, I must go. Imah is on her way home, and she wants me to help her out with some stuff. Farewell for now!

      Friday, May 16, 2008

      Wow. It’s Actually Friday!

      Friday’s Feast 191:

      Appetizer

      What is the nearest big city to your home? Seattle.

      Soup

      On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets? I’d give it a 7. It’s depends on the secret and the people.

      Salad

      Describe your hair (color, texture, length). Dark but not black. Curly/frizzy. Just below the ears and growing (by command of the Prince).

      Main Course

      What kind of driver are you?  Courteous?  Aggressive?  Slow? Non-driver. My first test drive I crashed the car…into another parked car. Haven’t dared again since.

      Dessert

      When was the last time you had a really bad week? Uh, that would be this week. Today and yesterday were hellish. I almost walked off the job today, but knew I was too sick and emotionally distraught to make such a drastic decision.

      Friday Fun: The Fives Edition

      1. What are the last five books you have read? I am reading Arabian Nights right now. The last 4 were all part of the Dune Chronicles: #1 Dune, #2 Dune Messiah, #3 Children of Dune, #4 God Emperor of Dune.
      2. Name five places in the world you would love to go to. Israel, Italy, Scotland, Australia, Iceland.
      3. Name five people who have strongly influenced your life, both good and bad,… not counting family! JP and Dennis Prager - for the good. Two former religious teachers - for the bad (although, looking at it from a positive standpoint, they made me see that EVERY group has it’s bad apples and not to trust someone just because they’re "religious"). Last but not least, my Prince - for the WONDERFUL.
      4. Name five things you have accomplished that you are proud of, big or small! My first novel. 50+ sit ups. Touching the floor with my knees–over my head. Learning the alphabet before age 2. Uh…I’m struggling here…reading a 200+ word novel in one sitting.
      5. Name five things you still want to do in your life. Become a published authoress. The splits (I’m SO close!!). Travel the world. Earn a doctorate (in something!). Get married.

      Friday Fill-in #72

      1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to abandon my Prince!
      2. This hot weather reminds me that summer is almost here!
      3. I cannot live without my Prince.
      4. The Prince’s experimental dish tonight and dumping wet potato peelings down his back are two things I’d like to try.
      5. When life hands you lemons chuck ‘em at people!
      6. Biting my brother-in-law is my favorite childhood memory. (Unfortunately, the incident was caught on video.)
      7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to enjoying the Prince’s fine cooking, tomorrow my plans include going to see Prince Caspian (I hope) and Sunday, I want to just relax!

      It’s Good to be Back!

      It’s so nice to be doing memes again. Now that my weekends are free, I’ll doing this regularly–if only once a week.

      It was so nice spending yesterday with My Prince. We hung out for a while at a coffee shop (mm–white mocha!) and then walked (in the rain) for about 45 min (hey, rain exhilarates me). to the movie theather where we watched The Forbidden Kingdom. It was awesome!!! I want it when it comes out on DVD. The Prince liked it, too. Then, since we needed to kill some time, we waited to watch Iron Man. That was when we met C4 and her man coming out from just seeing–guess…–Iron Man! My Prince had wanted to see that one, as well, so they convinced me it was worth watching. After buying tickets, we were taken out for a quick lunch by C4 and her man and then dropped back off at the theater. Iron Man wasn’t as bad as I had expected. (I’m terribly suspicious of movies that get lots of hype in the media).

      Following the movie, we went over to my Sisters of the Grand Cauldron of Mischief. Yay! They finally met my Prince! And they got along SO well! Actually, it kind of scares me how well they got along. They actually teamed up to tease me at one point. Don’t those girls realize I know where they sleep?

      Well, that’s all for now. Enjoy the memes below. I’m going to eat some of that deliciousness my Prince cooked for me.

      Unconscious Mutterings, Week 275:

      1. State :: Kentucky–I did a report on it once.
      2. Lively :: me with coffee :D
      3. Valet :: I could use one–no, on second thought, just give me a chauffeur.
      4. Traction :: non-skid shoes
      5. Official :: …duties
      6. Red hot :: …Mama
      7. Powder :: powered sugar–mmm.
      8. Replies :: "Sarcasm? Who me?" she replies.
      9. Flagrant :: The audacity!
      10. Tweet :: I once had a teacher with that name.

      Friday Fiasco

      Categories: My life, Memes, Weather, Holidays

      Friday’s Feast 169:

      Appetizer
      What was your first “real” job? Tutoring kids during the summer. I was paid $20-50 a day.

      Soup
      Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity? I’d go to my bedroom and crank up the music (the question is: Do I feel like Andrew Lloyd Weber or Queen? I told you I have a broad taste in music).

      Salad
      Complete this sentence: I am embarrassed when…I do something that makes me look stupid. Then, I laugh.

      Main Course
      What values did your parents instill in you? Respect your elders, wash your hands often, boys are DANGEROUS. LOL!

      Dessert
      Name 3 fads from your teenage years. I wasn’t really into fads when I was a teen. The few times I was interested in one, Imah nipped it in the bud. Now, however, I am into fashion arm warmers (especially fishnet), princess stuff, and my camera phone (those are kind of faddish).

      Friday5: So Why Don’t You Slide?

      1. Where is the nearest playground slide? I can see one from the majestic view of my window.
      2. What’s something you recently let slide? An inappropriate comment.
      3. Who recently let slide something you did? Imah (that doesn’t happen often).
      4. Where is the nearest water slide? Wherever I chose to make it! Hahaha!
      5. When did you last slide down a pole, a rope, or an embankment? Um, I got my friends to roll down an embankment during my birthday party. That was so fun!

      Friday Fill-in #46:

      1. The things I give thanks for this Thanksgiving are family and food. What could be better? ;)
      2. My Thanksgiving traditions include visiting with the family I rarely see, making the cooks feel their food is superior to any famous chef, watching the family play Pit (from a safe distance–maybe with some headphones on).
      3. The best part about Thanksgiving is the food.
      4. My favorite Thanksgiving food is: oh dear, I can’t answer that! It’s all so good!!
      5. Wearing the gravy was the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me on Thanksgiving.
      6. After the meal, I sprawl in front of the TV. When I’m done eating, I can’t move too much.
      7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to bed, tomorrow my plans include waiting for my special package and Sunday, I want to prepare the welcome-back gift for My Evil Twin!

      Well, this has been an interesting week. I think my impatience for a certain gift is taking its toll on me. The beginning of this week, I was cheery, chipper, perky, irrepressible. Yesterday and today, nothing can go right. I couldn’t be more accident prone if I was doing it on purpose! Plus, yesterday, I had several crabby customers. It was probably because it was raining cats and dogs, but geez, don’t take it out on me! I nearly cried but instead ground my teeth together. You’ll not see my tears, you crabs!

      Now (having decorated the kitchen with raw egg in my pitiful attempt to make breakfast), I fear today will be very much the same. At least I haven’t fallen down the stairs…a second time.

      Shalom and Happy Thanksgiving!
