Breaking Free - Biking

Unconscious Mutterings, week 321:

  1. Studio :: dance…
  2. Meetup :: …for lunch. Mm. Did somebody say PICNIC?
  3. Ostrich :: head in the sand
  4. Jokes :: Knock, knock!
  5. Estranged :: practically all my siblings. No, wait. No–all of them.
  6. Random :: …can be fun at times.
  7. Slap :: …in the face
  8. Hotel room :: Haven’t stayed in one since I was a little squirt (on a visit to Disneyland).
  9. Inscribe :: Yes, I do autographs! :-D
  10. Polar :: Bi-polar.

Just came back from an hour long bike ride. First time I’ve actually gotten up the nerve to leave my street–by myself anyway. It’s strange how I still have an aversion to going out in populated areas by myself. With friends, I’m fine–as long as I mentally block out the strangers around me.

I’ve been like that since before I could talk. Otherwise, I’d blame it on Imah’s grounding into me to be suspicious of people–or maybe my total lack of any sense of direction. But no, it couldn’t be either of those. I’m just weird. And, hey, it doesn’t inhibit my being social online at all. My true sense of humor and effervescence comes out online whereas I often come across as shy to people I first meet. Yay for the internet!! I am free!!

Yay for coffee, too! LOL! I’m going to get some driving practice here soon. Farewell for now!

Unconscious Mutterings 316:

  1. Be mine :: My Prince. He IS mine.
  2. Ecstatic :: Now that my Prince is back.
  3. Orderly :: a hospital attendant
  4. Sebastian :: A little red crab who sings
  5. Sore :: throat (not anymore! Now, I have an upset stomach! Joy.)
  6. Don’t need :: Anybody.
  7. Rockstar :: "So what? I’m still a rockstar!" (I love that song!!)
  8. Tinfoil :: Tin Man from Wizard of Oz
  9. Addiction :: power/control. How come no one talks about THAT addiction, huh?
  10. Where? :: "…is my keys? I lost my phone." (I love this song, too.)
Sunday Stealing: The Q & A Meme

1. where is your significant other? That’s classified information.

2. your favorite thing? My imagination. I can take it everywhere and do anything with it. Although, it can also be my worst enemy at times.

3. your dream last night? I didn’t dream. I barely even slept.

4. your goal? Get a driver license at last.

5. your hobby?  Writing.

6. where do you want to be in 6 years? Married, working an at-home job if I’m working at all. Writing novels.

7. where were you last night? Throwing up on my bedroom floor.

8. what you’re not? I don’t get why people naturally assume I’m nice. It must be my big brown puppy eyes and irresistible smile. Or maybe because, until I get to know people, I’m quiet. Quiet does not equal good/nice, peoples! You know what they say about the quiet ones!! Not that I’m trying to implicate myself as a psycho or anything. *ahem*

9. one of your wish list items? Just one? *sigh* How about this? I wanted some casual heels.

10. your pet? Hadassah, my pink, flying unicorn.

11. missing someone? My Prince. And Teddy Bear; I don’t have anyone to beat up on when I’m frustrated at work now. LOL!

12. your car? The Blood Red Van. I call it Jasper (as in Cullen).

13. something you’re not wearing? Whoa…what?

14. love someone? Yes…

15. when is the last time you laughed? A short time ago. I was teasing Samson for reading the Twilight series.

16. last time you cried? When I woke up. I was still feeling crappy and I thought my plans for the movie day were ruined!

17. favorite past time? Surfing the web.

18. are you a hater or a lover? Depends on how we get along and if you mess with my peeps.

19. any vices? Well, I’m certainly not going to voice them to the world!! How about this? I’m spoiled rotten and I have an ego that’s more inflated than a hot air balloon.

20. favorite meme other than Sunday Stealing? Unconscious Mutterings; it’s really the only one I play with any regularity.

So, I went to see Push with My Evil Twin, her brother Country Knight, Bullfrog, Samson and Teddy Bear. The graphics were cool. The screaming Bleeder guys made us cringe and cry for help. It left us a bit disappointed, but it wasn’t bad.  It was a pretty cool movie. It’s just that a lot more could have been done with it.

And stop shaking the bloody camera!! I hate that!!!

Anyway, yes, I passed my written driving test on Thursday and got my permit. Since I spent last night purging and determined to go on with my movie night today, I decided again the driving lessons Samson and I had planned.

My Prince and I still haven’t gotten to see each other. When I’m off, he’s working and when he’s off, I’m working. It colossally sucks. I invited him to hang out with us for the movie night, but he doesn’t want to be around a bunch of rowdy young people. He just wants some peace and quiet. Imah’s fine with that because the house isn’t presentable enough for guests just yet. Hopefully by next weekend, though… <3!

Despite the rumors, I did not La Push Jacob off a cliff.

…not that it would have hurt him anyway.

I love how Twilight has people in a frenzy. One of friends, Her Majesty, wants to "La Push Jacob off a cliff" because he’s a jerk. Another friend, VeggE, is all about Jacob and now wears an "Edward who?" button. My Evil Twin likes both Jacob and Edward. Me? I’m planning to take out Blondie and keep Emmett as my slave. Together, Emm and I will plague the world with our pranks! Muahahahaha!

Anyway, I went with VeggE, My Evil Twin and a couple other friends of theirs to visit Forks on Saturday. We got to see "the Swan home," "the Cullens’ residence," Bella’s truck, etc. We browsed the fan stores and even ate at the restaurant where "Bella and Edward had their first date." Mm.

While the others bought their fan stuff, I purchased pink sunglasses and a giant lollipop–oh, and My Evil Twin bought me a giant poster of Audrey Hepburn w/ a pink background and a kitty because I was gushing over it (I did more than gush but I’m not going to embarrass myself any further with details).

My Twilight fervor seems to be over. Maybe my own personal frenzy of trying to distract myself from my Prince’s absence. The fact that I still have 2 months till his return is driving me up the wall. Twilight is over. There isn’t anything new about it to me now. Nothing to hold my interest. I must find something else.

Wow. Um. Anyway…we also visited First Beach "where Jacob spilled the beans about vampires and werewolves to Bella." We didn’t stay long, though. We hopped over to Rialto Beach–it’s much better there. We girls got soaked teasing the tide, running from the waves. I remember doing that as a kid. I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow it. The excitement of seeing a wave pass beneath you as you stand on a pile of fallen trees. Wahoo! That was awesome!

Now, who’s up for some Transporter 3!!!

My Last Free Friday

Friday’s Feast 195:

Appetizer

What is the weather like today where you live? It’s hot and sunny today! …I miss the rain.

Soup

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how career-minded are you? I’d put myself at a 4–unless, of course, I can make my writing my career. Then, I’d be an 11.

Salad

What type of window coverings do you have in your home? Blinds, curtains, shutters, etc.? Blinds. Boring.

Main Course

Name something that instantly cheers you up? My Prince! And bubble baths! Writing doesn’t necessarily cheer me up, but it helps me cope/sort things out.

Dessert

How many times do you hit the snooze button on a typical morning? Rarely, but when I do, only once.

Friday Fill In #78:

1. Birthdays are a good excuse to party.

2. Fall is my favorite season because there’s something magical about that change of weather/season.

3. I feel my best when my Prince is around to cheer me up and motivate me. He’s the best!

4. Anything my Prince cooks is my favorite food!

5. First impressions are deceiving.

6. The best piece of advice I ever received was don’t let other people get you down.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward hoping to seeing my Prince, tomorrow my plans include getting briefed by an “insider” on my new job and Sunday, I want to welcome my Evil Twin back from camp!

My last day of work went well. I got some contact info from a few more people, so that was nice. I almost missed my bus home, though–that was not so nice.

Yesterday was quite an adventure. I took a short walk to get my nails done (gold again) and, seeing I had plenty of time before the next bus came by, walked back home and had lunch. I took the bus to Walmart for the first time–only to discover that, though the bus passes right by the store, it doesn’t actually stop anywhere near there. Great. Well, I got my exercise for the day walking back to the store. Good thing it was a nice (but not too hot) day.

Met Imah there while I was shopping. She offered to take me home to drop off my stuff and then swing me over to my appointed visit with my Systers of the Grand Cauldron of Mischief (as my Prince calls my Girls).

Once with my other family, I got suckered into watching Johnny English by the boys. Gag me! What a horrible movie. And the villian! I have never heard a worse French accent. He totally butchered it!

Well, I must go. Imah is on her way home, and she wants me to help her out with some stuff. Farewell for now!

6. How often do you log on? 3 or 4 times a week.
7. What is one of your favorite internet sites to visit? Meez.com
8. Coke or Pepsi? There’s some kind of Pepsi called Vanilla Cherry Jazz or something like that. It is my favorite.
9. Do you prefer healthy snacks or junk food? Depends. I don’t care much for junk food anymore. I love Wheat Thins.
10. Are you a morning person or a night owl? I’m a night owl. Unfortunately, my job usually dictates I get up early.

I have great news! I just can’t release it for another two weeks or so. Let’s just say that my life is going to take a turn for the better. In a year or so, who knows what I’ll be doing. Imah’s considering moving to Oregon to be with family. I wouldn’t mind going too–if I knew the Prince could be nearby. Life is pretty precarious–but at least it’s becoming a good thing.

Wow. It’s Actually Friday!

Friday’s Feast 191:

Appetizer

What is the nearest big city to your home? Seattle.

Soup

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how well do you keep secrets? I’d give it a 7. It’s depends on the secret and the people.

Salad

Describe your hair (color, texture, length). Dark but not black. Curly/frizzy. Just below the ears and growing (by command of the Prince).

Main Course

What kind of driver are you?  Courteous?  Aggressive?  Slow? Non-driver. My first test drive I crashed the car…into another parked car. Haven’t dared again since.

Dessert

When was the last time you had a really bad week? Uh, that would be this week. Today and yesterday were hellish. I almost walked off the job today, but knew I was too sick and emotionally distraught to make such a drastic decision.

Friday Fun: The Fives Edition

1. What are the last five books you have read? I am reading Arabian Nights right now. The last 4 were all part of the Dune Chronicles: #1 Dune, #2 Dune Messiah, #3 Children of Dune, #4 God Emperor of Dune.
2. Name five places in the world you would love to go to. Israel, Italy, Scotland, Australia, Iceland.
3. Name five people who have strongly influenced your life, both good and bad,… not counting family! JP and Dennis Prager - for the good. Two former religious teachers - for the bad (although, looking at it from a positive standpoint, they made me see that EVERY group has it’s bad apples and not to trust someone just because they’re "religious"). Last but not least, my Prince - for the WONDERFUL.
4. Name five things you have accomplished that you are proud of, big or small! My first novel. 50+ sit ups. Touching the floor with my knees–over my head. Learning the alphabet before age 2. Uh…I’m struggling here…reading a 200+ word novel in one sitting.
5. Name five things you still want to do in your life. Become a published authoress. The splits (I’m SO close!!). Travel the world. Earn a doctorate (in something!). Get married.

Friday Fill-in #72

1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to abandon my Prince!
2. This hot weather reminds me that summer is almost here!
3. I cannot live without my Prince.
4. The Prince’s experimental dish tonight and dumping wet potato peelings down his back are two things I’d like to try.
5. When life hands you lemons chuck ‘em at people!
6. Biting my brother-in-law is my favorite childhood memory. (Unfortunately, the incident was caught on video.)
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to enjoying the Prince’s fine cooking, tomorrow my plans include going to see Prince Caspian (I hope) and Sunday, I want to just relax!

Dance Party & Road Trip

Categories: My life, Friends, Dance, Travel

Wow.

That about sums it up. However, I will continue for reasons of clarification.

As I sit here, preparing to re-adjust myself to the regular schedule of life after the last of my guests have left and eagerly creating my blog post, I realize…whoa, I almost forgot about the dance party! The road trip was such a blast!

Don’t get me wrong. Monday was awesome, too. The happy newly weds, Tigger (aka, Kenjo) and Her Majesty, arrived first with lots of games and two speakers–each larger than I. Then, The Hacker came contributing the CD player and his own set of speakers. (We could really have blasted the neighborhood but we didn’t want to get any complaints.)

Having not yet done the shopping for the road trip, we were just leaving my place to do so when C4 arrived. We snatched her up and took her along–she being the only one familiar with the area.

We returned home to be greeted by Trin and My Evil Twin–and two boxes of donuts and two gallons of ice cream! Oh, Trin got me an adorable pair of sandals, too. Todah! I love them!!

The rest of the evening I remember as fun and frenzied chaos as we set up the sound system, gabbed, danced, gabbed, danced, gabbed, took down the sound system, gabbed, played games, and gabbed. For a change of pace, there was a little skirmish involving The Hacker’s marshmallows engaging in flight–but I have no idea who initiated that. I just know I finished it.

We stayed up much too late trying to catch The Hacker who played a bad guy in one of our games. Once he was caught, he went home and everyone else went to bed. We got up around 6-6:30 to load Jasper (the blood red van) and meet up with C4’s boyfriend (we need a nickname for him!). Unfortunately, we didn’t make it out until about 7:30 (details, details ).

We stopped in beloved Sequim at the Oak Table restaurant for breakfast. As I gazed around exclaiming at features I remembered and soaking up what I didn’t, we seemed to perk up at the table. Maybe it was our dashing and witty waiter, who, despite the frantic pleas of my friends, gave me unlimited refills on my coffee. Mmm…gooooood coffee.

Before leaving (and after giving our awesome waiter generous tips), we snagged our waiter and another of the staff to take pictures with them in front of the restaurant.

The rest of the trip was uneventful until we reached the Olympic Nat’l Park. Jasper belched noxious fumes in protest of the uneven terrain, but the Park Ranger assured us we were ok when we mentioned the recent oil change.

We entertained ourselves in various ways at the hot springs. Relaxing, sunning, soaking,  drowning the insects that dared to bite us, splashing, touching the bottom of the swimming pool (not the hot pools), grabbing and pulling each other underwater, and various acrobatics.

We also enjoyed the deli’s curly fries, onion rings, and smoothies. Before leaving, I made sure we checked out the tourist shop. Trin bought us all that rock candy on a stick. Mm.

The only souvenirs we have from the trip (besides a few bug bites, dirty laundry, and a few bruises here and there), are pictures. On the way back home, we stopped at some scenic spots for pics. I’ll be putting those up on my myspace.

I’m going to skip over the stop at the restaurant–it was boring except for a game we played with our fortune cookies. Oh, and someone started a mild spitball fight…but I can’t imagine who that could be.

We got home and watched The Frisco Kid as the crowning point of our trip.  Then, The Girlz and C4’s boyfriend left. Tigger and Her Majesty stayed overnight and left this morning.

Rats! I really should have gotten a picture of that marshmallow mush on Her Majesty’s back. That was priceless.
