Down for the Count

Yes, I’m sick. I feel like roadkill. Wait. I take that back. Roadkill feels sore and squashed; I feel sore and blown up (my head…my head…). I’m spending the weekend at home trying to combat this thing. Imah gave me Airborne tablets last night, and I’ll be taking those throughout the day. Once I finish this blog, I’m going to take a nice hot bath with some Menthol. (LOL! I’m sorry; that just sounds funny.)

Anyway, about Cara’s baby shower. C4 and I got there early to set up. Because of some miscommunication, we had to pick up some pizzas instead of someone else bringing enchiladas (I fail to see the loss). We strung up delicately colored streamers, placed cutesy covers over the tables along with pink plates, utensils, and cups, and set up the gift table. (I’m so glad it was pink!!)

It was a small affair with about a dozen or less people. Unfortunately, because of traffic (and more miscommunication), our beloved mommy of the day was quite late. (Hey, it made a good joke though.) Once she arrived, the starving guests gave their congrats and hugs and then dove for the food (from which Miss Hostess, C4, had restricted us). Hunger satisfied, we started the games which included the Don’t Say "Baby" game. Poor C4–as hostess, she ended up saying baby the most. Often, when someone said "baby", the person who caught them would shout "You just said baby! …oops." As it turned out, my friend, the Pixie, had the most pins (earned by catching others who said "baby"); I had one less pin. emoticon

Hehe. Afterwards, I thought C4 was taking me home, but I found myself kidnapped and taken instead to her family’s house. I got see the kiddles and the older ones and wish my Evil Twin a happy birthday in person! (I love that family. emoticon) And, to finish it off, I got to watch House with them!!! I mean, I’m crazy about the show, but there’s nothing like watching it with a bunch of friends who are crazy about it too. Oh yeah. It was a good day. Beautiful.

Unconscious Mutterings, Week 210:

  1. The best thing :: laughter
  2. Hold :: __ on–it’s gonna be a bumpy ride!
  3. Rapture :: getting my novel published (The ultimate joy! Besides writing it, I mean.)
  4. Cover :: For my novel? ….I’ll work on that. Eventually.
  5. Restrictive :: publishers
  6. Baker :: mmm…donuts
  7. Author :: Me!!!! (Actually, I prefer the term "authoress", but whatever works.)
  8. Pill :: Yeah, I’m taking lots of those right now.
  9. Months :: I hope/wish/think it won’t be that long for me to finish my novel.
  10. Valentine’s Day :: One word: Whatever.

So, yeah–in the middle of this post I discovered that my feminine cycle decided to speed up a bit. So now I get to add pamprin to the stack of pills I’m taking. And I can forget that bath. Bloody curses!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn’t life great?

Until next time…Farewell!
