I’m back!! *cheers*
(j/k)
I would have blogged sooner, but I got some more people hooked on my story, so I had to work on that–really hard. At last, it’s all up to date. But, hey, that’s for my writing blog.
My two weeks at camp were exhausting. The first week wasn’t all that bad: it rained, the showers ran out of hot water quickly, I helped the craft class, I didn’t have to swim in the saltwater, I ran into my superior while a friend was teaching me a dance (we should have been doing something else)–I mixed the good with the bad. You readers can sort it out.
The second week seemed worse: the hot water went out for the bathroom and I had to take an ice-cold shower on an already shiveringly-cold morning; the girls in my charge had an unlimited source of energy (and mischievousness)–which they couldn’t seem to use for cleaning the cabin; the sun was blisteringly hot during the day (I do not do well with heat); during one of these blisteringly hot afternoons, we "got to" (instead of "had to") play soccer–I am not a sports person–can you say "heat stroke"?
Still, I didn’t have to go anywhere near that horrid saltwater; I didn’t get to do archery
; I learned croquet; someone from the week before kindly gave me a gift which I am still enjoying even now–a sinus infection. Got tissue? (And anti-bacterial soap?)
Wow. I try to be positive, but I had to get out. I can’t say that I regret going though. I gleaned a great deal from those two weeks. My friends and I performed some awesome skits for those little girls. I made new friends. I got a tan. More people want to read my novel. And I was reminded yet again through the dear, little darlings that I should never have children.
Thank you and goodnight.
(I’m going to sleep some more…)
